The Human Microbiome course is designed for life sciences students with a basic knowledge of Microbiology and the techniques used. This 15-module detailed course is designed to cover the basics of the human microbiome, its components and how we acquire the microbiome. It also covers the different microbiomes in the human body, their functions in different organs, and how the microbiome changes in different age groups. We will address the different techniques used to study the microbiome and take a look at the advances in the Human Microbiome Project globally. Finally, the course will dive into different disease states and how these are correlated to changes in the microbiome in different organs.
